Hundreds of wreaths to be laid at Forest Hills public ceremony this weekend
Forest Hills Memorial Park, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will host a public wreath-laying ceremony at their location, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA on Saturday, December 14. The event joins more than 2,000 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.
Coordinated and led by local volunteers, the fundraising groups for Forest Hills Memorial Park have raised $11,250 to place 750 wreaths on veteran graves.
The ceremony begins at 12 p.m. and will be preceded by the Reading High School JROTC Presentation of the Colors at 11:55 a.m. Mark Gillen, Pennsylvania House Representative of the 128th District, will be speaking at the ceremony.
The annual event seeks to further the WAA mission of Remember, Honor, Teach; ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.
